sculptor: DANCE
Sebnem Yuksel was invited to create a piece for World Dance Day celebrations. Performance takes place in a social complex of Circle d’Orient. Interactive piece begins with human statues. As the quotes are read by one of the dancer/singers, statues begin to move. Internationally important quotes (by Nietzsche, Martha Graham, etc.) about dance is used to sculpt the bodies of the dancers.
By time, the dialogue of words and movements interfere more and resonate to audience. They begin to read the quotes and participate in the performace.
